Dear family and friends, both near and far, GREETINGS - wherever

you are. KOOKIE KAISER KLAN reporting for another year. The best news
first: JOYCE turned Social Security age this year. I waited sixty-two
years for that. But Last March I was unamously elected the Township
Clerk. (No one else ran) Last week I was offered a new job: PACKAGING
SUPERVISOR & ASSISTANT LABORATORY TECHNICIAN - can one retire with all
those titles - just watch me. I did quit one job already so I'm making
progress. Marv will be 62 next fall. I won't have any trouble getting
him to retire - but from what?

Marv is feeling pretty good these days, he should be, he has had a
complete overhaul. We had a good scare in June when his doctor
announced that he needs a quadruple by-pass. Marv had a couple rough
days but healed quickly after that. He has had his toes fixed, his arm
fixed, his shoulder fixed and is almost without pain 'till he decides to
do something else. It has been a rough year for him.

Marv has a new fishing boat. He started collecting literature from
boat dealers the first day water dripped off the roof last spring. he
had a gaunt, haunted, soreful look about him. It was pathetic, I had to
say BUY ONE! Nicest fishing boat on the lake - Marv thinks so.

Had a retirement party for brother Bud last summer. The whole
Olson family was there. It was a beautiful day, we all got to swim and
ski and sun burn. It had been a few years since we were all together.

The twins spent most of the summer here, would you believe that
they are twelve years old, Brendan is going to be a teenager in March,
Shannon will be eleven and little Bridget will be six. Makes me feel
old - then I think about mother, she has three children over sixty and
not a single child under fifty. Mom will be eighty two in February -
don't ask her about living in those senior citizen apartments - she
doesn't want to be with those old folks.

KEITH & SHARON, KURT & HEIDI, KAREN & DON, KRYSTON & KRAIG are all
fine. They are wonderful children and are good to their Mommie
& Daddy. Keith & Sharon invited us to Kansas City for a weekend in
October. They have a real nice home. They like Kansas City but I
think Keith would rather be here with the rest of the family. We had
such a nice weekend - we will come again. Kryston moved to New Prague
recently. She needed a change of pace. She is very happy there and
the twins like the small town atosphere. Kraig is still "batching"
it. He has a very nice girl friend but he says he has to be more
financially secure before he gets married. He and a partner started
a new business, they change oil in cars - only, they go to the car to
do the job.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL - HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR - keep this
thought in mind - the "retired" one will probably have this letter in
the mail by HALLOWEEN next year.

LOTS OF LOVE
the KOOKIE KAISER KLAN

P.S. Thanks Madge, I would not have had time to write this without your
help.
P.P.S.S. As long as I'm saying thanks, Thanks Mare and Harv for the
"white knuckle" trip to Texas las January. The snow & icey roads were a
problem but the company was good.
